Prior to joining Ford Richardson, Melissa owned her own law firm and gained valuable private practice experience at law firms who specialized in civil litigation, mainly insurance defense and civil defense with some personal injury.

Melissa and her extended family have a long history of service to the U.S. Military. Her father proudly served in the United States Army where he served two tours in Vietnam, retiring after 22 years. Her husband served in the United States Navy, retiring after 26 years of service as a Senior Chief. Her son served 6 years in the United States Navy before pursuing a career in robotic engineering. Melissa and her family truly know what it means to serve. They deeply understand the sacrifices that our servicemembers and family make every day to support our country.
